Alannah Yip is the youngest of three sisters. Her older sister, Sarah, is also a climber and has competed at the World Championships. Their parents, Susan and David, are both former climbers who now run a climbing gym in Vancouver. Alannah currently resides in Squamish, British Columbia where she trains full-time with her coach, Sean McColl.
